"This was a repaint of a piece I did much earlier; I had done the original artwork on my birthday and also on election day of 2020. I was feeling a lot of anxiety and decided to put a bunch of tape down on a canvas and paint the spaces that weren't taped in hopes that the satisfaction of the tape peeling and revealing colorful squares would calm me down; it did. After taking off all of the tape, I had all these squares, and I wanted to make the painting feel like it was moving, so I added the background. Needless to say, I felt much better after finishing." - Powerhouse Customs
