Lian Yung Art
Meet Lian Yung, the San Francisco artist who transitioned from a biotech lab and computational biology degree into full-time art this past year. Her unique style features detailed, large-scale line pieces that dynamically blend the mechanical and the biological, a clear influence from her scientific background.
As a half-Chinese, half-Puerto Rican artist, Lian ties much of her work to her heritage, drawing inspiration from the calligraphy taught to her by her family and the visionary art of Kim Jung Gi. Her debut show, Lucky Numbers, featured the Chinese Zodiac painted on reclaimed canvases, merging her fine art skills with a compelling street art style.
