The “Mullet Shirt” By Method Made

These brand new, iconic, made in the US, Japantown, San Jose & East Bay Area, CA shirts will only be available for sale at @westcoastcraft June 13-14 @fortmasoncenter.

Inspired by “business in the front, party in the back” we’re excited to reveal the @methodmade “Mullet Shirt”.

Designed in partnership with @jaecukui x @cukui, these shirts were made in homage to SF Bay Area family owned @bendaviscompany workwear shirts,  @neal__________ wanted to make a shirt for the summer that was lightweight in the back, but still kept true to the workwear roots that Ben Davis is known for.

The Mullet shirt is all business in the front with its original heavyweight cotton fabric, and party in the back, with a lighter weight, Hawaiian shirt, pattern fabric.

History:

The term “mullet” didn’t actually hit the mainstream until 1994, thanks to the Beastie Boys’ song “Mullet Head.” Before they gave it a name, the look was just called “hockey hair” or a “shag.” The legendary phrase “business in the front, party in the back” arrived even later, with the release of the 2001 cult classic *Joe Dirt*.

The haircut itself has ancient roots reaching back to Roman chariot racers, its modern identity is defined by this ironic “business/party” split.

So yeah mullet shirts. Who needs one? Email us for sizing, pricing, and additional details for purchase ahead of the festival 🤘🏽💀🤘🏽
