“This painting comes from a place of sadness, grief and loneliness. The setting is a piece of "legal pad" paper. The juxtaposition of the sad Deegs character is placed partially off of the page to symbolize the edge of legality and illegality. Deegs is a personification of myself and personality. The character was created through the vehicle of graffiti (illegal) but also values and desires presidency in the (legal) art, illustration and digital image world. The work is a glimpse into what it is like being on the edge of legality and illegality.” -Deegs
